ATTENTION

SUMMER READING PARENTS

Sign up for Summer Reading has been fantastic!!

To thank you for your support we are inviting you and any children in your family

not enrolled in the program to swim on July 17th with your enrolled child/children.

This is your immediate family only - no cousins or friends, etc.

We need to know before July 1st how many of your immediate family members will be in

the pool. Final arrangements depend on this number.

Please let Dave know right away the name of your child/children enrolled in

the program and the total number of family members swimming.

This is our understanding of the Hawthorne Pool rules

about who may leave the shallow area.

Lifeguards will determine if someone is a swimmer or non-swimmer based on how well

they can swim the width of the pool. Those who are judged to be non-swimmers must stay in the shallow end where they may or may not wear a floatation device.

Little ones must have an adult with them.

A non-swimmer of any age may not leave the shallow end of the pool unless he/she wears a floatation device and is within an arm’s length of an adult swimmer at all times.

Small pool toys are allowed such as noodles and beach balls.

Be sure to put your name on everything you bring.

Only swimmers are allowed on WiBit.

We can't enter until 2; must be out by 4.

If you have questions, you can call the Parks and Recreation Office

at (309) 345-3683.

Summer Reading Program

Our Summer Reading Program launched with a very entertaining program by Mr. Chris McBrian. Using magic, ventriloquism and humor he effectively communicated the importance and fun of reading.

He utilized the help of students and staff in illustrating the vast amount of knowledge to be acquired from reading, as well as the long lasting enjoyment and life benefits.

Our program lasts through the middle of July and tops off with a pool party for the participants. There is still time to get signed up, have fun and reap the benefits of reading.
